This news is full of controversies, but now it's official: Wendel Bezerra, known to fans for voicing the most charismatic character in the otaku/nerd world, will no longer be dubbing Goku in the DVD version of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods produced by Paris Filmes.
With the DVD scheduled for release in August, Wendel Bezerra personally announced it on his Facebook , explaining that he had indeed accepted the participation in the project and was supposed to record his part on June 9th, but was informed by the studio that "there wouldn't be enough time."
In the statement, he says he didn't charge more than usual and is disappointed with the position taken by those in charge. Besides the DVD, it's possible that Goku's new voice will also be present in future broadcasts of the film on cable and broadcast television.
Paris Filmes intended to use the same dubbing from the film, but the price requested by Diamond Films, the rights holder, was too high, and they ended up opting for a re-dubbing, now done by the Clone studio. It's worth noting that the film is available with the theatrical dubbing on Netflix.
