Bandai Namco 's multiplayer game Death Note: Killer Within will receive new playable roles in the summer of 2025. The news was revealed during the company's Summer Showcase My Hero Academia: All's Justice and Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree .
Released on November 5, 2024 for PlayStation 4 , PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam) , the game pits up to ten players in intense matches between Kira and the investigation team led by L. While Kira's followers try to eliminate targets with the deadly notebook, investigators must discover who the real killer is and prevent new crimes.
New Death Note challenges and characters
As shown in the latest trailer, players will be able to take on new roles, inspired by the chess pieces seen in the original anime. So, in addition to the familiar faces, other characters will add even more strategy to the matches.
The game is based on the famous manga Death Note , written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. The work was published between 2003 and 2006 in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and had a 37-episode anime adaptation by MADHOUSE.
Furthermore, the franchise has already inspired live-action films, dramas, extra mangas and a new Western adaptation in the works since 2022.
