Death Stranding gets an anime film

Death Stranding universe , created by Hideo Kojima, is set to expand even further. The animated project “DEATH STRANDING MOSQUITO” , and will be directed by Hiroshi Miyamoto , known for his work on HUGtto! Precure All Stars Memories and currently part of ABC Animation Studio .

Released in November 2019, Death Stranding captivated the world with its unique exploration of a post-apocalyptic future. The plot puts the player in the shoes of Sam Porter Bridges (Norman Reedus), tasked with reconnecting an America fragmented by the mysterious catastrophe called Death Stranding . In addition to Reedus, the game also featured big names like Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, and Lindsay Wagner , reinforcing its cinematic identity.

In June of this year, the franchise received the sequel Death Stranding 2: On the Beach , while a live-action film is also in development. Now, the arrival of an anime version promises to expand the legacy even further.

International production and teaser revealed

The film will be the first production from the newly created ABC Animation Studio , in partnership with Hollywood. The screenplay is by Aaron Guzikowski , responsible for works such as Prisoners and Papillon .

A 135-second teaser has already been released, showing a submerged man who, upon spotting something ahead, swims towards it. The scene then shifts to a rainy landscape marked by timefall , where a creature made of tar attacks the protagonist. The preview ends with the creature impacting the character, leaving the main plot a mystery.
