Producer Hikaru Kondo , founder of the studio ufotable , casually commented on the potential budget for the film Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

When confronted with the estimated $20 million figure circulating widely among fans and analysts, Kondo questioned the origin of the number. He then posed the question: if that figure were real, what should the budget for Part 2 be after all the success of the franchise?

When the interviewer suggested something between US$100 and 150 million for a sequel, Kondo joined in the joke. He stated he was "very happy" with the estimate and took the opportunity to playfully pressure producer Yuma Takahashi of Aniplex . Takahashi responded with laughter, saying he couldn't confirm anything, but that he would "sincerely try his best."

Meanwhile, film adaptations of Weekly Shonen Jump continue to dominate theaters. Movies based on Jujutsu Kaisen , Chainsaw Man , and Haikyu!! have already helped the industry surpass billion-dollar figures. Therefore, expectations for even greater investments in Demon Slayer are only growing.
