Demon Slayer – Check out what the dark version of Tanjiro would be like in the manga

Tanjiro Kamado , the protagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba , is known for being a very honest, innocent, and kind character. However, Koyoharu Gotouge , the manga's author, didn't intend to create such a character. In her original design, Tanjiro was a completely different, darker character.

Koyoharu Gotouge created this character for her one-shot called Kisatsu no Nagare , which premiered before the release of Demon Slayer. Originally, this was going to be the protagonist of the story, but Tatsuhiko Katayama Shueisha 's taste . So the manga's editor asked her to create a more pure character, and thus Tanjiro Kamado was born.

 "Due to its serious tone, lack of comic relief, and dark story, it wasn't edited for serialization. I thought it wouldn't make it unless the main character was changed, so I asked Gotouge-sensei if there wasn't a brighter, more normal character in the world she created. That's how Tanjiro and Demon Slayer came to be."

Synopsis:

After defeating Upper Moon 6 in the Entertainment District, Tanjiro must travel to the Blacksmith Village to forge a new sword, as his old one has been damaged. However, along the way, he encounters new demons sent by Muzan, the main villain, with a mission to kill the blacksmiths. Without the blacksmiths, the hunters will have no swords to fight the demons. So Tanjiro and his friends must fight the demons of the Upper Moons again to stop them.

Thus, the first season of Demon Slayer premiered in April 2019 , becoming a hit with the film. The second season premiered on December 5, 2021, in Japan. Finally, the third season premiered on Crunchyroll following the release of the film To the Swordsmith Village – World Tour on February 2 in Japan.
