This week, the third season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba came to an end, and a sequel to adapt the Hashira Training . However, after this mini-training arc, the series will enter its final arc. A new article from the Japanese website Myjitsu discusses the possibility of the final arc being adapted as a film in the anime.
Demon Slayer – Will the final arc of the manga be adapted into a film or series?
Training with the Hashira will be a brief preparation for the characters' final battle, which will come in the next arc ( The Infinity Castle ). Many fans speculate that the final arc will be a film, but the story is too long for a film adaptation. According to one source, adapting The Infinity Castle, whether as a single season or a film, will not be easy because it is a 69-chapter arc.
However, it would be possible to adapt the arc by splitting it into two parts, with a TV season followed by a movie. This would divide the manga's major arc into 43 chapters for the first part and 26 for the second. In other words, a two-cour season followed by one or two movies to conclude the anime.
Synopsis:
After defeating Upper Moon 6 in the Entertainment District, Tanjiro must travel to the Blacksmith Village to forge a new sword, as his old one has been damaged. However, along the way, he encounters new demons sent by Muzan, the main villain, with a mission to kill the blacksmiths. Without the blacksmiths, the hunters will have no swords to fight the demons. So Tanjiro and his friends must fight the demons of the Upper Moons again to stop them.
Thus, the first season of Demon Slayer premiered in April 2019 , becoming a hit with the film. The second season premiered on December 5, 2021, in Japan. Finally, the third season premiered on Crunchyroll following the release of the film To the Swordsmith Village – World Tour on February 2 in Japan.
