On Sunday (18th), the Crunchyroll was down for a few hours when thousands of subscribers tried to access it at the same time. Apparently anime streaming was overloaded with so many hits due to the last episode of the 3rd season of Demon Slayer .
Demon Slayer – Last episode of season 3 leaves Crunchyroll offline
Check it out:
Although Crunchyroll did not reveal the reason for this cause, the release of Demon Slayer must have been the reason for the site's downfall. This is even more evident considering that it was the final episode of the season, and that there were many viewers eager to watch it. However, this was just a temporary drop during the high number of hits, so Crunchyroll is already operating normally now.
Synopsis:
After defeating Upper Moon 6 in the Entertainment District, Tanjiro needs to go to the blacksmith village to forge a new sword, as his old weapon was damaged. However, on the way, he comes across new demons sent by Muzan, the main villain of the plot, with the mission of killing the blacksmiths. Without blacksmiths, hunters will have no swords to fight demons. So Tanjiro and his friends have to fight the demons of the Upper Moons again to stop them.
Therefore, the 1st season of Demon Slayer premiered in April 2019 , making the film a successful phenomenon. The second season premiered on December 5, 2021 in Japan. Finally, the 3rd season premiered on Crunchyroll after the release of the film To the Swordsmith Village – World Tour on February 2 in Japan.
