The pre-release trailer for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 has been officially released, revealing a series of new features that promise to excite anime fans. The video highlights new content coming with the sequel, including new arcs adapted directly from the series, as well as a highly anticipated playable character.
- Genshin Impact 5.8: Phase 1 Characters and Weapons Banners
- Columbina: The third Harbinger of the Fatui in Genshin Impact
Scheduled for release on August 5th, the game developed by CyberConnect2 will feature expanded modes, more than 40 characters and new features, enhancing the experience in both Story Mode and VS Mode.
Players who opt for the Deluxe Edition will have early access starting July 31st.
New anime arcs arrive in story mode
The trailer confirms that the game's campaign mode will include three major story arcs from the anime: the Entertainment District, the Blacksmith Village, and the Hashira Training. All moments have been faithfully recreated from the source material, maintaining the high visual and narrative standards that made the franchise famous on consoles.
Additionally, cinematic combat gains more depth with new enemies, never-before-seen cutscenes, and battles against the higher demons that challenge the protagonists at every stage of their journey.
VS Mode brings over 40 characters and new mechanics
For those who prefer direct action, VS Mode has been enhanced with the addition of mechanics like Dual Ultimates and Equipment. This offers more strategy in combat. Among the playable characters, the highlight is the nine Hashira, the most powerful swordsmen in the Demon Slayer universe, now available with new moves and special animations.
Additionally, the mode will also allow for online and offline battles, enabling both casual training and more competitive challenges. This versatility broadens the title's appeal among both casual players and series veterans.
Muzan Kibutsuji will be playable in a free update
The final trailer surprises by confirming Muzan Kibutsuji as part of the playable cast in a free update. This inclusion fulfills a long-standing community request and promises to change the dynamics of combat in VS Mode, as Muzan will bring unique abilities directly inspired by his appearances in the anime. This news comes alongside the announcement of the Infinity Castle Arc Character Pass, which will add even more content to the game after its release.
