The Japanese Academy of Film then announced that the film Demon Slayer: Mugen Train had won the popularity award at the 44th annual awards ceremony.
The radio program 99 All Night Nippon announced the results. Listeners of the program submitted 133,456 votes on which work and actor were " the most discussed of the year " to determine the recipients of the Popularity Award , the only award category that is determined by fans.
In addition, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train is one of five nominees for Animation of the Year . The other nominees include Violet Evergarden: The Movie, Poupelle of Chimney Town , Stand By Me Doraemon 2 , and Josee, The Tiger and the Fish .
Both Yuki Kajiura and Gou Shiina were therefore nominated for the Best Music for their work on the film.
