Why didn't Nezuko die at the end of Demon Slayer?

Since she became a demon, Nezuko Kamado has always had to avoid sunlight so as not to die burned. However, in the final episode of Demon Slayer Season 3: Kimetsu on Yaiba , Nezuko managed to avoid death, overcoming his weakness against sunlight.

While Tanjiro was chasing Upper Moon 4, the sun began to rise with Nezuko exposed. Clearly, because she was a demon, her skin started to burn, so her brother became desperate because he couldn't decide between saving her or the civilians, who were about to die.

Nezuko's immunity in the sun

Nezuko agreed to die so that Tanjiro could save the other humans. However, she surprised everyone in the end by being able to walk in the sun. In this way, she became the demon chosen by the sun that Muzan has been searching for for several years. The series didn't give an explicit explanation about how Nezuko became immune to the sun, but it seems like it's a special mutation that only she was able to acquire.
