Detective Conan: Junkoku no Nightmare opened Saturday in 348 theaters and is currently at the top of the Japanese box office in its first week. The film has grossed 1.209 billion yen, 38% more than the 2015 film Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Hell

The film breaks box office records despite 11 cinemas having to cancel screenings due to the Kumamoto earthquake.
