Diablo 4 season 8 has arrived with bold promises and some significant changes. After playing intensely and exploring everything the new content has to offer, my impression is clear: even with the sense of repetition, the experience is still worth it.

The highlight of the season is the return of Belial, the Lord of the lies, as a central antagonist. Its presence marks the dark tone of the season, bringing with it a new worldwide event, the raids of appearances, and a system of temporary powers that add variety to combat.
Although the narrative has gained a little more focus on characters like Sayeena and Jarius, the connection between the new bosses and the story is still shallow. It is that feeling that Diablo's universe has much more to offer than punctual confrontations without narrative depth.
Solid and fun gameplay
The gameplay is undoubtedly the strongest point of season 8. Blizzard gets it right by keeping combat fast, strategic and visually impactful. The powers of bosses that can be absorbed and used in custom builds give the game a freshness, even if the concept of “borrowed powers” is not new to those who have played the previous seasons.
Players can now choose a main power and even three modifiers, which gives rise to experimentation and interesting combinations. I, for example, tested different synergies with the necromancer and had a lot of fun adjusting every detail of the build.
Repetitive Events: The Old Formula of Always
The weakness of the season is in excessive repetition. Events such as the raids, although well implemented, end up demanding too much grind for those seeking to unlock all bosses and powers. At certain times, I found myself playing the same activities for hours without much reward beyond the expected.
In addition, the structure of the heads of lair, now divided into three levels of difficulty (beginner, larger and exalted), albeit well thought out, suffers from the same problem: recycled combat, often with small mechanical variations.
Collaboration and rewards: an advance
While the content may seem repetitive, on the other, the reward and progression structure has improved. Encouraging Party Finder facilitated collaboration between players and made the final content more affordable. With this, farm, legendary items or facing the most powerful chiefs is no longer a lonely task.
The loot even seems to be fairer and rewarding. I noticed a greater frequency of relevant items and a good variety of legendary aspects, especially after adjustments to the withdrawal system.
Reliquary System still needs to evolve
One of the biggest bets of Blizzard this season was the exchange of the battle pass for the reliquary system. The idea of giving the player more control over the type of reward he wants is excellent. However, the amount of available prizes disappoints, especially considering that the price has not changed.
With only 8 free rewards (compared to 28 previous) and a drastic reduction in paid items, the system still seems incomplete and needs adjustments to become really advantageous.
Difficulty balance: the right challenge, at the right time
Another plus point was the thin adjustment in difficulty progression. The transition to torment levels is smoother and rewarding, allowing skilled players to advance without frustration. I felt that my effort was valued as my character evolved, which makes the grind more tolerable.
Family repetition with shine in the details
Diablo 4 season 8 is a mixture of sensations. On the one hand, it brings a polished combat, a good deal of customization and improvements in the group system and withdrawal. On the other hand, it falls again on repetitive formulas and events that quickly lose the impact.
Still, the balance is positive. For those who like to try builds, play in groups and enjoy the dark universe of sanctuary, the season has a lot to offer. Blizzard, in the future, is expected to risk more in mechanics and plot to keep the game fresh and engaging with each new season.
