To celebrate its 15th anniversary, the famous Digimon , which debuted here in Brazil in the 2000s, received new features at an event. The team announced that the characters will return next spring in Japan.
The announcement accompanies a video shown at the end of the event, showing the main character, 17-year-old Taichi (TAI), at school with his Digimon partner, Agumon. Also at the event, a flyer revealed that the series will feature an entirely new story and is already in production.
The event also announced the release of a Blu-ray box set of the 54-episode first season. Early copies of the box set will include a new special drama CD, which will arrive in March 2015. The Blu-ray release of the 1998–2006 films will be released on January 9, 2015. This box set includes a bonus Blu-ray 3D disc.
The cast of the first Digimon Adventure appeared at the event, and Koji Wada performed the classic opening theme “Butter-fly” live.
