For those unfamiliar, Digimon (short for Digital Monsters ) is a Japanese franchise created by Bandai in 1997. Starting as a virtual pet similar to Tamagotchi, the series has since expanded into anime, manga, card games, and, of course, video games. Often compared to Pokémon, Digimon has carved out its own unique niche thanks to its dynamic evolution system and deep storylines.
However, the 1999 anime Digimon Adventure launched the franchise's success. The story follows seven children transported to the Digital World, where they befriend creatures called Digimon, destined to protect their world from evil forces. Since then, the series has gained adaptations, spin-offs, and a loyal fan base.
