Gareth Edwards , director of Godzilla 2, has abandoned the film project. The website Deadline states that the departure was amicable and the director has other bigger projects to deal with.
He is currently working on the film Star Wars: Rogue One , which will hit theaters on December 16th and which promises to portray the Star Wars .
It was recently announced that Godzilla 2 will be delayed until March 22, 2019. It is not yet known who will replace Gareth.
