New details have arrived regarding the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the anime and manga 'Naruto', by author Masashi Kishimoto . The Hollywood film is slated for release in November 2023.

This Friday (23) through the “ Hollywood Reporter ”, we had confirmation of the direction and script, being between Destin Daniel Cretton , known for his work on “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”.

Therefore, Masashi Kishimoto commented on the choice of director:

"When I found out about Destin's involvement, I had just seen one of his action blockbusters and thought he would be the perfect director for 'Naruto'."

“After enjoying his other films and understanding that his specialty is creating solid dramas about people, I became convinced that there is no other director for 'Naruto'. Upon actually getting to know Destin, I discovered that he is an open-minded director who is willing to accept my suggestions, and I strongly felt that we would be able to cooperate together in the production process.”

First published in Japan in 1999, the "Naruto" manga quickly established itself as a global cultural phenomenon, selling over 250 million copies in more than 60 countries and territories . The anime adaptation also solidified its status as one of the most popular series worldwide.

Although a live-action adaptation doesn't yet have a release date, it's a long-held desire of Lionsgate (known for "The Hunger Games"). In 2015, the studio even hired Michael Gracey ("The Greatest Showman") to direct the project, but production ended up being postponed indefinitely.

Finally, comment on the choice of director to create the live-action Naruto film.
