Dragon Ball Daima continues to surprise fans, and this time we are introduced to the new Red Shenlong. With revelations such as Vegeta's Super Saiyan 3 Super Saiyan 4 , and the true origin of the Namekians, the series still has great moments in store for its final two episodes.

The most recent one paid homage to one of the "ugly ducklings" of the saga: a new Supreme Shenlong was summoned in the Demon World, and its design is reminiscent of both Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Z.

In the episode, Glorio and Dr. Arinsu manage to summon the Eternal Dragon of the Demon World, which strongly resembles Porunga, the Namekian Dragon. Unlike Shenlong, Porunga not only had a unique design, but could also grant three wishes instead of just one. Thus, the underworld dragon in Daima offers a reinterpretation of this design, but with a special touch: a red aesthetic, which also makes a clear reference to Dragon Ball GT .

In Dragon Ball GT , the Red Dragon (Ultimate Shenron) emerged from the Black Star Dragon Balls, transforming Goku into a child due to a wish made by Pilaf and his gang. Now, in Daima , the purpose of the wish made to the Demon World Dragon remains a mystery. Although Glorio has fought alongside the Z Fighters from the beginning, his loyalty to Dr. Arinsu raises suspicions. With the next episode titled " Betrayal ," it seems the demon warrior may have burned his bridge with Goku and his friends. Will the Red Dragon be able to reverse the situation?

The creator of the new dragon and the future of the series

However, the Demon World created by Neva , a Namekian with powers beyond anything we've seen in the franchise, is still an enigma, responsible for granting Goku the Super Saiyan 4 transformation. With Dragon Ball Super returning in February, will he make an appearance in the sequel?

A canonical tribute to Dragon Ball GT.

Akio Iyoku, producer of Dragon Ball , revealed that Daima is a "love letter" to Dragon Ball GT , incorporating elements of the spin-off into the current canon. He stated:

We wanted to create an anime that parents and children could watch together. The generation that grew up with Dragon Ball GT now has children, and that was an inspiration for us.
