Iyoku shared a written message from Akira Toriyama:
"Hello. I am Akira Toriyama. I'm currently working on a new Dragon Ball. The title is “Dragon Ball DAIMA” is a made-up term, which in Japanese characters would be “大魔” or in English would be something like “Mal.”
Due to a conspiracy, Goku and his friends are transformed into little ones. To make things right, they will leave for a new world! It's a great adventure with intense action in an unknown and mysterious world. As Goku has to compensate for his small size, he uses his Nyoibo (Pole Power) to fight, something that hasn't been seen in a long time. I created the story and settings as well as many of the designs. I'm putting a lot more into this than usual! Things will be revealed that approach the mysteries of the world of Dragon Ball. I hope you enjoy these unusual battles that are cute and powerful!”
The title characters 大 and 魔 should be familiar to many Dragon Ball fans, with 大 (dai) regularly used for things like the Great Demon King Piccolo (ピッコロ大魔王) or the Great King Enma (閻魔大王), while the 魔(ma) is the same as 魔人 (majin).
Furthermore, the Dragon Ball Super premiered in July 2015 and aired for 131 episodes until March 2018. Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and Funimation released the series on streaming.
Subsequently, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero debuted in Japan in June 2022 and in August in the United States. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures showed the film in theaters worldwide. Finally, screenings include both the original Japanese audio with subtitles and dubbing, with the film being shown in 13 dubbed languages and 29 subtitled languages.
