One of the main conflicts arose when Akio Iyoku , former director of Shueisha's "Dragon Ball Room," decided to create his own company, Capsule Corporation Tokyo, in 2023. This move caused a great stir, as Iyoku had been one of the main creative decision-makers for the franchise. His departure and the creation of this new company raised questions about who would control the rights to Dragon Ball.

With Toriyama's death and the disagreements between Iyoku, Shueisha, and Bandai Namco, the rights to the franchise were left in a delicate situation. The lack of a clear leader after the loss of its creator only exacerbated the tension. Even with Shueisha's efforts to resolve the conflict, the future of Dragon Ball remains uncertain.
