It was announced in Japan that Dragon Ball will get a new TV series in July, all in celebration of the series' 18th anniversary. Based on the work of “ Akira Toriyama ”, the new title will be called “ Dragon Ball Super ” or Dragon Ball – chō . The new series is already scheduled to premiere on Fuji TV.

The story of this new saga takes place a few years after the defeat of the villain “Majin Buu”, when Earth has become peaceful once again. The original voice actor for Goku, Gohan and Goten, Masako Nozawa commented on the new anime, saying: “ We've always used the word 'chō' (Super) with Dragon Ball in commercials, games and the like, but the fact that the series will being titled as Dragon Ball Super is starting is the best thing in the world. ”
Fuji broadcaster producer Osamu Nozaki commented on the new series, saying: “ As I read the plot [of the series] I already received from Akira Toriyama, my dreams seem to be starting to expand. An enemy even stronger than Buu or Frieza may appear… ”
