Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 received a playable demo at Tokyo Game Show 2026, but the experience left a negative impression, featuring controls and graphics that had changed little since the previous game.

In the demo, the player controlled a premade character in a mission initiated by Gamma from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. The goal was to first face groups of regular enemies and then fight Broly alongside three characters controlled by artificial intelligence.
The combat system retains light and heavy attacks, Ki use, special techniques such as Kamehameha and Kaioken, and a mechanic for quickly closing in on opponents. Players could also summon Vegeta and Trunks, temporarily taking on their forms and moves while the main character recovered health.
Xenoverse 3 combat and performance
Regular enemies put up little resistance. Broly, however, required some attention at times, especially when he became invincible and fired energy spheres in multiple directions.
Overall, despite these mechanics, the demo review noted complicated controls, environments lacking detail, and graphics similar to those of Xenoverse 2 on PlayStation 4.
Finally, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is slated for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.
