Dragon Ball Z-Battle of Gods film may be delayed

During its panel at the Sakura-Con event, which is being held in the United States, the American distributor FUNimation, which holds the rights to Dragon Ball there, was asked by a fan about the release of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods (Kami to Kami). He asked if the film license had already been acquired.

The company responded by saying that Toei Animation has not yet released it, and stipulated that it should take about two years to obtain such rights and be able to release it. FUNimation went even further and declared that there is a possibility that the film will not even be distributed by them in the United States, since, firstly, 20th Century Fox is the one who should receive the acquisition proposal.

If FUNimation's plans come to fruition, this could delay the film's arrival in Brazil and other Latin American countries, because if the process used is the same as Dragon Ball Kai, the dubbing of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods could take a long time. more time to happen and go through the same problems as the remastered version of the anime (salaries, studio and change of voice actors) if the material used as a basis is that of the American distributor.

Now that the film has debuted in Japan, more concrete information about the release of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods in other countries should emerge in the coming months. Until then, fans just have to wait.
