Dragon Ball Z fans can rejoice: Mojang Studios revealed a new official DLC inspired by Dragon Ball Z during Minecraft Live 2025. Although the studio did not confirm the exact release date, it guaranteed that the expansion will arrive later this year.

The trailer begins mysteriously, with a player placing the last Dragon Ball to summon Shenlong. Soon, the scene in the game explodes in golden light and the legendary dragon appears to grant the wish. The player then transforms into Super Saiyan Goku, while Vegeta, Krillin, Piccolo, and Gohan appear beside him. To finish, Goku unleashes an iconic Kamehameha.

According to the official Minecraft website, the DLC will allow players to launch Kamehamehas and even use the Genki-Dama. Furthermore, there's a good chance that Shenlong, Vegeta, Gohan, and other characters will be part of the expansion. While not yet confirmed, it's possible players will need to gather the Dragon Balls as part of a special quest.

While awaiting the release, fans can already redeem an exclusive item for free: the Super Saiyan available in the game's character creator.

Community expectation

The partnership between Dragon Ball Z and Minecraft promises to unite two of the biggest phenomena in pop culture. However, Mojang is keeping further details secret, leaving the community eager for news. Therefore, players continue to wait for more information—and ultimately, for the chance to fulfill their own wish in Minecraft.
