NBCUniversal Japan has released the first promotional video for the animated series Drifters , an adaptation by Kouta Hirano (Hellsing). The video highlights the 70th anniversary of Shonengahosha, the publisher of the original manga. The video describes the anime's main staff.

Kenichi Suzuki (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Bizarre Adventure) is directing the anime. Hideyuki Kurata (Tokyo Ravens) is writing the script, and Yousuke Kuroda (Hellsing Ultimate, Gungrave) is also writing the scripts alongside Kurata.

The story follows Shimazu Toyohisa, the real-life samurai who fought in the crucial Battle of Sekigahara. In his final moments, Shimazu is transported to a magical world with other famous warriors. These warriors are forced to fight each other in an endless battle.
