After years of anticipation, Sony surprised the public by announcing God of War 4 at the opening of its E3 conference on June 13, 2016.

First, the presentation featured a majestic orchestra and a powerful choir, creating an emotional atmosphere. As soon as the curtains opened, fans were stunned by the reveal of the highly anticipated title, although at first, many doubted it was actually God of War .

Check out the gameplay demonstrated at the conference:

Kratos returns in a new Norse setting

However, Kratos' appearance confirmed the rumors were correct. The new version of the game will adopt a Norse setting, marking a significant departure from the franchise's traditional Greek saga.

In the video shown at the conference, Kratos appears accompanied by a young boy, who calls him "father" several times. As in previous versions, the protagonist displays his strength, but now in a paternal role, teaching the young man how to hunt and survive.

E3 2016 – God of War 4 Exclusive to PlayStation 4

Although the demo excited fans, God of War 4 still doesn't have a set release date. However, it has been confirmed that the game will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4, solidifying its position as one of the platform's biggest releases.

Furthermore, the gameplay showcased a revamped combat system, which promises to further enhance the gaming experience. Unequivocally, anticipation for the release is huge among franchise fans.
