The latest update for Stellar Blade, numbered 1.3.0, has generated frustration among PC gamers. After installation, some users reported that the game simply stopped launching, making it impossible to access the action RPG that had been accumulating praise since its release.

Community members on Steam identified the problem and linked the bug to modifications installed in the game. Although solutions have already been shared among fans, the studio responsible should investigate further to ensure the bug does not recur.

Community identifies source of error

A few hours after the patch was released, a player posted on the official Steam forum that they were unable to open Stellar Blade. Responses quickly multiplied, revealing that several users were experiencing the same error. Consequently, the developer, Shift Up, intervened in the conversation and suggested that the cause might be related to the UE4SS modding tool and individual mods.

By following the recommendation to remove the tool and extra files, some players were able to run the game normally again. Additionally, some users suggested alternative methods and restored the game's functionality, but the studio has not yet officially confirmed these solutions.

Changes and fixes introduced by the patch

Despite the bug, update 1.3.0 brought some minor changes to both the PC and PlayStation 5 versions. Among them is the correction of a visual bug that removed the protagonist Eve's hair when using the "Fluffy Bear" and "Pink Bear" skins. On the other hand, the game now allows you to leave Clyde's shop after purchasing a specific pair of glasses.

The photo mode has received improvements, and adjustments have been made to scenarios and progress bars that weren't working as expected. On PC, FSR technology has been enhanced, offering greater graphical stability. On PS5, the patch, identified as version 1.013, fixed a problem affecting auto-aim during combat against the Demogorgon enemy.

Anticipation for an official hotfix

Even with the solutions shared by the community, many players are hoping for an official hotfix that will definitively eliminate the startup error. The studio has not announced a timeline for the next update, but has reiterated that it continues to monitor reports.

Despite the setback, Stellar Blade maintains its high approval rating on Steam, with over 54,000 reviews registered and 93% of them positive. Therefore, the expectation is that the problem will be resolved quickly, preserving the good reputation of the action RPG.
