Young magazine announced that the Evangelion manga will finally be ending. Only two new chapters will be published. The penultimate chapter will be released next Thursday (May 2nd) and the last one on June 4th.
Yoshiyuki Sadamoto 's work will conclude its run after 18 years of publication, which includes a series of hiatuses and announcements of endings that never actually materialized. Sadamoto had previously stated that he was working intensely on the manga's ending so that it could be released this year. To celebrate the ending in style, Young Ace will release the Evangelion Comic Climax Special Program along with the last two chapters, featuring testimonials from various people involved with the series. In Brazil, the manga is published by JBC . While the manga is nearing its end, the franchise's latest film (Evangelion: 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo) is doing well in Japan. The feature film, released last November, has officially grossed a total of 5.26 billion yen (R$ 107 million). Compared to the figures released by Toei regarding the box office earnings of Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods (R$ 64 million) and One Piece Film Z (R$ 146 million), Evangelion: 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo also performed well at the box office during its five-month theatrical run.
