During an event to announce anime releases, Netflix confirmed Chikyuugai Shounen Shoujo ( Extra-Terrestrial Boys & Girls ) for its catalog. According to the streaming service, the anime will premiere on January 28, 2022.

Synopsis:
The story takes place in 2045, where the internet and AI are commonplace even in outer space. Using broadband, social media, and a drone they can control through their smartphones, the AI-assisted children will have to overcome many challenges while awaiting help from the planet.
Mitsuo Iso (Dennou Coil, FLCL, Evangelion) is directing the anime at the new studios Production + h.
Finally, the manga series Chikyuugai Shounen Shoujo is written by Mitsuo Iso .
