Koei Tecmo has officially announced a new game inspired by the anime Fairy Tail . The title will be a JRPG and is being developed by GUST Studios , the studio known for franchises such as Atelier and Nights of Azure .
The announcement was accompanied by a reveal trailer , which showed the first glimpses of the adaptation, promising to take fans on a new adventure in the universe of Natsu, Lucy and the entire Fairy Tail guild.
Launch and platforms
There aren't many details about the gameplay or plot yet, but the developer has confirmed that the game will be released in 2020 and will be available for PC (Steam) , PlayStation 4 , and Nintendo Switch . This will be the first major adaptation of the series for current-generation consoles at the time, which raises expectations from the community.
Meanwhile, fans of the anime and manga await more information about playable characters, combat mechanics, and possible adapted story arcs. GUST promises to maintain the essence of the original work, but add elements characteristic of its JRPGs, such as alchemy systems and strategic battles.
