Actor Paul Walker , famous for the Fast and Furious series, died in a car accident in California. His representatives confirmed the death via the star's official Facebook page. The first site to break the news was TMZ.
Walker was in Santa Clarita, California, for a charity event and had an accident in a colleague's Porsche Carrera GT – he was in the passenger seat, the driver also died. The car crashed into a tree and caught fire with both of them inside. The event they were participating in was held to benefit a typhoon solidarity fund in the Philippines.
Paul Walker was 40 years old, was born in Glendale, California and starred, in addition to the Fast and Furious series, in films such as Timeline, In the Trail of the Bullet and Pursuit. Fast and Furious 7, the next film in Universal's most profitable franchise, was being filmed in the United States and the actor was already guaranteed an eighth film in the series.
