Fate/Apocrypha, the new anime from the successful Fate/Stay Night , has updated information on the official website In addition to a new promotional video, the series arrives on July 1st of this year, while in the case of Netflix the premiere will take place on July 3rd.
Fate/Apocrypha is based on a light novel series in an alternative timeline to Fate/stay Night written by Yūichirō Higashide and illustrated by Ototsugu Konoe.
The animated production of the series is in charge of the studio A-1 Pictures, the same one that made Sword Art Online with the script by Yūichirō Higashide, the direction is by Yoshiyuki Asai (Charlotte) and the character design is by Yūkei Yamada.
The saga of the new Fate/Apocrypha anime:
The plot takes place in the Holy Grail War fought by seven Mages and Heroic Spirits in a city called Fuyuki. However, a certain wizard took advantage of the chaos of World War II to steal a Holy Grail. Several decades passed, and the Yggdmillennia family, which took the Holy Grail as its symbol, defected from the Mages Association and declared its independence. Furious, the Association sent a force to deal with the Yggdmillennia, but they were defeated by the summoned Servants. With the Holy Grail's war system changed, a war on an unprecedented seven-on-seven scale begins.
