The staff and cast of the upcoming Fate/stay night anime announced at a conference in Shinagawa, Tokyo, that the anime 's story will follow the "Unlimited Bladeworks" arc from the original game. A new promotional video was also released at the event.
The team also announced that the anime will premiere on Japanese TV on October 4th , and will be divided into two parts . The second half of the anime will premiere in April 2015. Newcomer Mashiro Ayano will perform the anime 's first opening theme song, " ideal white," while the musical group Kalafina will perform the first ending theme .
The film adaptation of the original game by Unlimited Bladeworks premiered in Japanese theaters in 2010, with animation by Studio DEEN . Sentai Filmworks licensed and released the film in North America in 2012.
