Game Awards 2022 event , held this Thursday, showcased a new trailer for Square Enix 's Final Fantasy XVI , which revealed the game's release date as June 22, 2023 .

In addition, Square Enix also revealed the collector's edition of the game in Japan, which includes an art box, the game, a Phoenix vs. Ifrit figure, a pin collection, a Steelbook case, a cloth with the world map, and an in-game item called "Black Sword." Other bonuses include another in-game item, a digital art book, and a digital mini-soundtrack. Pre-order bonuses include two in-game items.
The action RPG will launch for PS5 as a console exclusive. Although an initial live-streamed trailer listed a PC , the trailer and the official website do not list a PC version to date.
Square Enix's creative division, " Business Unit III, Naoki Yoshida (Final Fantasy XIV) is in charge of production for this new game in the franchise, while Hiroshi Takai (Final Fantasy XIV) will handle the direction.
Naoki Yoshida stated in June that the game was in its "final stage of development," with the game's development team focusing on polishing the game. Yoshida previously stated that "complications arising from the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the game's development by almost half a year."
