The Fire Force anime began showing a new trailer for the adaptation, which begins airing on July 5th. The trailer also features the opening theme song:「Inferno」, which features a performance by Mrs. Green Apple.
The manga by Atsushi Oobuko , creator of Soul Eater and Soul Eater Not! , has been published by Shounen Jump since 2015, and currently has 16 volumes. The manga is also published here in Brazil, by Panini, and is currently in its 6th volume. The anime adaptation is by the studio David Productions (the same studio as the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure ) and directed by Yuki Yase . Gakuto Haishima is the screenwriter and Hideyuki Morioka is the character designer, the anime's music is by Kenichiro Suehiro (also responsible for the music for anime such as Re:Zero, Goblin Slayer and Hataraku Saibou).
The anime's synopsis describes:
“Year 198 of the Solar era in Tokyo, the special forces of the fire brigade are fighting a phenomenon called Spontaneous Human Combustion, where human beings become living hells called “infernals”. While Infernals are the first generation of cases of Human Spontaneous Combustion, later generations possess the ability to manipulate flames while maintaining human form. Shinra Kusakabe, a young man who earned the nickname “Demon Footprints” for his ability to set his feet on fire at will, joins the special forces of Fire Force Company 8, which is made up of flame users, and his job is to extinguish the Infernals they encounter. When a faction that is creating infernals appears, Shinra begins to discover the truth behind a mysterious fire that caused the death of his family 12 years ago.”
