The anime Food Wars! (Shokugeki No Souma) will get its second season, scheduled for 2016. The announcement came via the cover of the monthly magazine "Shonen Jump," and the news also highlights that the OAD dedicated to the "Aldini" brothers will be sold with the special edition of the 18th volume of the compilation, which will go on sale in May 2016 in Japan.
The first season had 24 episodes and premiered in May, concluding in September of that year; Crunchyroll is currently streaming the first season.
The story revolves around Yukihira Souma, who dreams of becoming a chef at his father's restaurant and surpassing his father's culinary skills. But as soon as Yukihira graduates from elementary school, his father, Jouichirou, closes the restaurant to go cook in Europe. Despite being down, Souma's fighting spirit reignites when his father challenges him to survive in an elite culinary school where only 10% of students graduate.
