The anime Food Wars! (Shokugeki No Souma) will have its second season scheduled for 2016. The announcement came through the cover of the monthly magazine “Shonen Jump”, in addition the news highlights by informing that the OAD dedicated to the “Aldini” brothers will be sold with the special edition of the 18th volume of the compilation that will go on sale in May 2016 in Japan.
The first season had 24 episodes and arrived in May, ending in September of that year. Crunchyroll is currently showing the first season.
The story revolves around Yukihira Souma, who dreams of becoming a chef at his father's restaurant and surpassing his father's culinary skills. But as soon as Yukihira graduates from elementary school, his father, Jouichirou, closes the restaurant to go cooking in Europe. Despite his low spirits, Souma's fighting spirit is rekindled when his father challenges him to survive at an elite culinary school where only 10% of students graduate.
