Official trailer introduces Night City to Fortnite
To promote the news, Epic Games released a trailer that connects the settings of Cyberpunk 2077 to the battle royale. The video highlights the futuristic settings of Night City, recreated in the vibrant and dynamic style of Fortnite. This integration reinforces the unique RPG atmosphere in the more casual gaming context.
This is the first official crossover involving Cyberpunk 2077 characters in Fortnite. However, it is worth remembering that Keanu Reeves had already been represented in the game previously with the skin of John Wick, another of the actor's successful characters.
Epic Games chose the moment of collaboration strategically. The partnership coincides with Winterfest, which distributes free rewards for 14 days, and takes advantage of the rise in popularity of Cyberpunk 2077. Thus, the RPG, previously criticized at launch, now receives praise after major updates and the success of the Phantom Liberty expansion.
Winterfest also provides themed skins and free items, increasing player engagement. Therefore, Epic Games' strategy guarantees greater visibility for the collaboration, attracting both Cyberpunk 2077 fans and regular Fortnite players.
