Kyoto Animation has released a new trailer for the second season of Free! – Iwatobi Swim Club. The video originally premiered in Akihabara , Tokyo two weekends ago. It introduced a new character , Sōsuke Yamazaki , Rin's best friends from elementary school .
Kyoto Animation announced the new season at an event in January. The first season ended with the message "See you next summer" in the final episode.
Free! revolves around the character Haruka Nanase , a boy who has always loved being in the water and swimming. Before graduating from elementary school, he participated in a tournament with his swimming club colleagues (Makoto Tachibana, Hazuki Nagisa, and Rin Matsuoka). After winning, each went their separate ways.
