The official website for the swimming anime Free! has confirmed that the band OLDCODEX will appear in the new film in the franchise, which will be split into two parts. The film will therefore be titled Free! The Final Stroke .
The first part of the film is scheduled to premiere in Japan on September 17th of this year, while the second part is expected to arrive on April 22nd, 2022. It is worth remembering that the film promises to bring closure to the franchise's story.
The animation is by Kyoto Animation (Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai, Violet Evergarden).
Like other anime from the Kyoto studio, Free! became a successful franchise, with its first season airing in 2013, and after 2 years, the anime gained a second season and a film (Free: High Speed).
The 3rd season of the anime aired in 2018.
