The official website for the swimming anime Free! has confirmed that the band OLDCODEX will appear in the franchise's new film , which will be divided into two parts. The film will therefore be called Free! The Final Stroke .
The first part of the film is scheduled to premiere in Japan on September 17th of this year, while the second part is expected to arrive on April 22nd, 2022. It's worth remembering that the film promises to bring the franchise's story to a close.
The animation is being handled by Kyoto Animation (Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai, Violet Evergarden).
Like other anime from Kyoto Animation, Free! became a successful franchise, with its first season airing in 2013, and after 2 years, the anime received a second season and a movie (Free: High Speed).
The third season of the anime aired in 2018.
