Frieren – Anime brings an exciting adventure to RPG fans

If you're a fan of RPGs and anime with more emotional themes, you should keep an eye on this season's new anime, Frieren and the Journey to the Beyond . This anime begins where many others end: the beginning of a new life after the heroes' victory over the ultimate villain. Then, the immortal elf Frieren embarks on a journey full of profound reflections, as she witnesses the fragile lifespan of humans.

Frieren – Anime brings an exciting adventure to RPG fans

Currently, the anime scene is dominated by the shonen genre, but Frieren stands out for its more laid-back approach. After the demon king's death, the protagonist performs simple tasks on her journey. For example, finding a specific flower in the forest, cleaning a beach, and caring for people. These less intense challenges won't appeal to audiences seeking frenetic action. However, those who enjoy more reflective adventures will appreciate the story's emotional appeal.

While its production doesn't reach the heights of Ufotable or Kyoto Animation , the anime features settings and color palettes that make its animation even more captivating. Its approach creates beautiful moments, exploring visual narratives that immerse the viewer in the adventure.

The four-episode series flies by, comfortably immersing us in Frieren's immortal life. If future episodes maintain this quality, the anime will certainly be a standout in the magic and fantasy genre.

Synopsis:

Shortly after the demon king's defeat, the group of victorious heroes returns home, ready to part ways. Frieren the mage, Himmel the hero, Heiter the priest, and Eisen the warrior reminisce about their decade-long journey as the time comes to say goodbye.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is a Japanese manga series written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe . It has been serialized in Shogakukan 's Weekly Shōnen Sunday since April 2020.
