Frieren: Beyond Journey – Manga will go on hiatus

This year's eighth issue of Shogakukan 's Weekly Shonen Sunday Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (Soso no Frieren) manga will go on hiatus. The magazine did not reveal when the manga will resume soon.

Synopsis

The demon king has been defeated, and the group of victorious heroes returns home before parting ways. The four heroes—the mage Frieren, the hero Himmel, the priest Heiter, and the warrior Eisen—reminisce about their decade-long journey as the time comes to say goodbye. But time passes differently for elves, and Frieren witnesses her companions slowly die one by one. Before his death, Heiter manages to impose upon Frieren a young human apprentice named Fern. Driven by the elf's passion for collecting countless magical spells, the two embark on a seemingly aimless journey, revisiting the places the heroes of old had visited. Throughout their travels, Frieren slowly confronts her regret over missed opportunities to form deeper bonds with her now-deceased companions.

Finally, Yamada and Abe launched the manga Frieren: Beyond Journey in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in April 2020.
