This year's eighth issue of Shogakukan 's Weekly Shonen Sunday Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (Soso no Frieren) manga will be going on hiatus. The magazine did not reveal when the manga will resume soon.
Synopsis
The demon king has been defeated and the group of victorious heroes returns home before splitting up. The four heroes, the wizard Frieren, the hero Himmel, the priest Heiter and the warrior Eisen, remember their decade-long journey when the time comes to say goodbye. But the passage of time is different for elves, so Frieren witnesses his companions slowly dying one by one. Before his death, Heiter manages to impose on Frieren a young human apprentice named Fern. Driven by the elf's passion for collecting a multitude of magical spells, the two embark on a seemingly aimless journey, revisiting the places that the heroes of old had visited. Throughout his travels, Frieren slowly confronts his regrets over missed opportunities to form deeper bonds with his now-deceased companions.
Finally, Yamada and Abe launched the manga Frieren: Beyond Journey in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in April 2020.
