Frieren: Stark shows he can be strong even when afraid

In the latest episodes of Frieren and the Journey to the Beyond , Frieren and Fern recruit a new character to their team, Stark , a young warrior who is stronger than he appears. The new member is a weak and cowardly boy at first, but this only makes the revelation of his strength even more impactful. Stark's vulnerability shows that you don't need to hide your fear to become stronger.

Check it out:

Eisen 's apprentice , seems like a fearless warrior who protected the villagers from the fearsome dragon. However, upon meeting Frieren and Fern, we discover that he is actually a coward. He didn't face the dragon out of bravery, but rather out of fear, accepting the villagers' gratitude and affection to hide his cowardice. The animation enhances the moment with visual comedy, exaggerating both the dragon's threat and the villagers' gratitude.

Fern treats Stark with disdain upon discovering his deception, but Frieren reminds her apprentice of her own fear during her first encounter with a monster, providing an encouraging bridge for her to understand the "hero's" side. Soon, Fern recognizes Stark's strength upon seeing his training and emphasizes that he only needs to deal with his fear to fight the battles.

Stark's epic confrontation with the dragon is a scene that surpasses expectations, featuring incredible choreography and camera angles. Furthermore, the animation captures the zoom effect when the character grabs the dragon's head. In this way, the anime intensifies the danger he faces against a huge and ferocious dragon. After the fight ends, even the character is impressed by his own strength. This shows that fear isn't a problem; you just need to know how to deal with it to face challenges.

Synopsis:

Immediately following the defeat of the demon king, the group of victorious heroes returns home, ready to part ways. Frieren, the mage, Himmel, the hero, Heiter, the priest, and Eisen, the warrior, reminisce about their decade-long journey as the time comes to say goodbye.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Stark is a manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. It has been serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday since April 2020.
