Coming from the manga to the small screen, in April the new anime series Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii (Even So, The World is Beautiful) by Dai Shiina .
The manga revolves around Nike , the determined princess who has a mysterious power: she can control rain. After losing a game of rock, paper, scissors to her older sisters, she is forced to marry the king of the Sun Kingdom, Livius I. Livius conquered the world in three years, and is known as the “Terrible King.” . However, when Nike meets him for the first time, she discovers to her surprise that he is a boy younger than her. Livius abruptly asks Nike to raise the rain, and when she refuses, he has her thrown in jail. The story follows the two who, although at first they are a couple in name only, gradually begin to establish an emotional bond with each other.
Shiina said about the announcement that she is very happy and added: “I'm looking forward to finding out how Nike's song will come out.”
Shiina wrote two one-shots for the manga in 2009 and 2011 in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine, and then released the complete series in the same magazine in 2012. Hakukensha will publish the sixth compiled volume on January 20.
