The official website of the Fruits Basket released a trailer dedicated to the film , the film will be called Fruits Basket -prelude- . Ohashi Trio 's theme song called “Niji to Kite.”

The film will premiere in Japan on February 18, 2022 .
The adaptation will be based on the story of Tohru , Kyоuko and Katsuya , which the 2019-2021 anime did not adapt. The film will also include new scenes, written specifically for the film, depicting events later in the anime's story.
The staff and voice actors from the 2019-2021 anime will return for the film. The film's Blu-ray release will be available on the same day as its theatrical release.
