Ghost in the Shell Arise – Full trailer and film synopsis

The official website for the Ghost in the Shell Arise anime streamed its second 90-second trailer. Therefore, the film is scheduled to premiere in Japanese cinemas on June 22nd.

Kazuchika Kise (animation director who made Otogi zôshi, Blood-C: The Last Dark) is directing the series and character design, and Tow Ubukata (Le Chevalier D'Eon, Mardock Scramble) is supervising and writing the scripts. Production IG is producing the series, and Cornelius (Appleseed: Ex Machina) is composing the music.

Synopsis

The story takes place in 2027, one year after the end of the fourth non-nuclear war. New Port City is still recovering from its post-war years when it suffers an attack caused by a self-propelled mine. Then, a military member skilled in handling weapons is shot dead. During the investigation, Public Security from the Daisuke Aramaki Section finds Motoko Kusanagi, the cyborg, assistant-level hacker assigned to the secret unit 501. Batou, a man with the “eye that doesn't sleep”, suspects that Kusanagi is the person behind behind the attack.

Finally, the film consists of four 50-minute parts, after screening in theaters, and will be available on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on July 26th.
