Fullmetal Alchemist is getting a live-action movie!

Rafael Shinzo
My name is Rafael Alves, known as Shinzo. I created the AnimeNew website in 2009 to offer news about anime, manga, and games directly from Japan.

According to a news article published on the popular website Otakomo, our beloved Fullmetal Alchemist will get a live-action film scheduled for release in 2017. The article also states that the film is in development for next year. Actor Ryosuke Yamada, from the group Hey!Say!JUMP, will star in the film as Edward Elric... HAHAHA lol

The author recently had his work as Nagisa Shiota in the live-action adaptation of Assassination Classroom.

The manga had two anime adaptations, one between 2003 and 2004 with 51 episodes, airing in October, and featuring a different storyline from the manga. The second series, a complete success due to its faithfulness to the manga, contained 64 episodes and aired between April 2009 and July 2010, titled Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
