Square Enix launched a new website on Thursday to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Hiromu Arakawa 's manga Fullmetal Alchemist . The website, "vengeance-scar.jp," will announce new projects for the franchise's anniversary.
In addition, the website also shows an image featuring the character Scar, and a countdown that ends on March 2nd. The same image appears in flyers distributed in cinemas.
The manga celebrated its 20th anniversary on July 12th of last year.
Arakawa's work was published in Monthly Shonen Gangan anime adaptations in 2003 and 2009, two OVAs, two films , and a live-action film.
Finally, similar to the 2003 anime Fullmetal Alchemist, the 2009 anime Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is based on the original manga by Hiromu Arakawa, although Brotherhood is closer to the manga's story and ending.
