Brief description of the anime's story by Funimation: “In a world where all of humanity lives in large mobile fortresses, this anime follows the fight against the legion of menacing kaiju!”
Although little information about the anime's story is revealed, we can see in the teaser trailer that the protagonist will be a girl accompanied by an older man. This leaves open the question of what kind of drama the anime will depict. So we could expect a plot with hints of The Last of Us , or something more adventurous... we'll only know this summer.
The anime will be directed by Yuzuru Wachikawa ( Mob Psycho 100 , Death Parade), and is a sci-fi action series from studio NUT ( Saga of Tanya the Evil ). Hiroshi Seko, who collaborated with Tachikawa on both seasons of Mob Psycho 100, is writing the anime's script. Pomodrosa ( Listeners ) is credited as character concept designer, with Shinchi Kurita (Death Parade) providing the animation character design. Mashiro Tokuda (Last Hope) is composing the music. Tachikawa has commented that the anime will feature a large world with drama, monsters, and a giant mobile fortress.
